It is a land flowing with milk and honey. Only after two years of wandering around the wilderness, the people got weary and sent twelve spies into the land to get a sneak peek at who the enemy was that they had to defeat for the land and how they could defeat them.

They felt that God had set them up to see this great land that they could never receive because it was occupied by giants. They explained to the people that they had no clue as to how they were going to overcome this land.

They felt that the size of the giants would make taking over the land beyond their ability. How the people could even say this was unknown after the same God had delivered them from slavery. Only there were two people left that did not feel the same way as the other spies. Joshua and Caleb were among those sent out to look at the land, only to come back and report great things to the people.

They told the people about how beautiful the land was and how the pastures were great for growing fruits. Once seeing the land, Caleb believed that God would deliver on his promise.

Caleb was simply trying to motivate the people to go up and possess the land which God had promised Genesis He was trying to lead the people by example by showing them that he believed was willing to remain a faithful and loyal servant to God.

This is a courage that many people search all their lives trying to find and never obtain. Being the lone soul that has to be willing to be condemned and cast out is harder to be than the person that goes against God.

Even though Caleb chose to remain loyal to God and he tried to encourage the people to keep their faith, the people turned on Caleb and they turned on God. They felt as though God had deceived them by promising them a land that was already occupied by giants.

This upset God and caused him to curse the people. The proclaimed that they would not be granted entry into the promise land and neither would the families. Due to no fault of his own, Caleb was forced to wander in the wilderness for forty years.

God made them suffer for forty years because they had spied on the enemy for forty days.

He suffered because of the faithlessness of the people of Israel.Indeed, there are diverse referrals and works that the Holy Spirit is recognized at specific allusions in the Bible.
